About the Role

We are seeking a Data Quality Analyst Intern to join the Tech and Data team for the summer. You will play a key role in investigating, diagnosing and helping resolve inconsistencies in our database records, the financial backbone of the platform. Accurate records underpin everything from investor returns and borrower repayments to regulatory reporting, and this internship offers a real opportunity to make a tangible impact on the integrity of our data.

You'll work closely with engineering, operations and finance to understand how data flows through our systems, identify where it goes wrong, and help build the processes and checks that keep it clean going forward. It's a great role for someone who enjoys digging into the detail, asking good questions, and turning messy reality into clarity.

Key Accountabilities
  • Investigating and analysing records in our database to identify inconsistencies, anomalies and errors. For example, mismatched balances, incorrect repayment schedules, missing or duplicated records.
  • Writing SQL queries to extract, reconcile and validate loan data across systems.
  • Documenting root causes and proposing fixes, working alongside engineers who will review and apply changes to production data.
  • Building reusable validation rules and reports that help the team catch data quality issues earlier.
  • Partnering with operations and finance to understand the real-world context behind the data and to verify that proposed fixes are correct.
  • Contributing to a clear remediation log so that all changes are traceable and auditable, important in our regulated environment.
  • Sharing findings and improvement ideas with the wider Tech and Data team.
Required Skills
  • Comfortable with SQL, or eager to develop strong SQL skills quickly. Familiarity with Excel/Google Sheets for analysis is a plus.
  • Currently studying towards a degree in a numerate or analytical discipline, e.g. Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, or similar.
  • A game-changer mindset – bring fresh thinking to how we approach data quality and look for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Passion and ownership – we want people that are passionate about their work, are constantly looking at how to make it better and are accountable for their outputs.
  • An interest in fintech, lending or financial data is a strong plus.
  • A zero-ego true collaborator – Crowd2Fund thrives on a culture of supporting each other to get things done. We don't believe in hierarchy.
  • A sharp, detail-driven analyst with strong judgement. Someone who notices when numbers don't add up and is curious enough to find out why.
  • Comfortable leaning into AI – not afraid to experiment, learn and to find smarter ways of working using AI and automation.
  • Strong communicator – we are all clear, concise, proactive communicators – sharing to ensure the wider team stays aligned.
Technical Skills
  • Transact SQL
  • Microsoft Office O365
Benefits
  • Team nights out
