X Industries Ltd is a production company specialising in short-form engagement, explanation, and entertainment content. They have worked with many household brands including Marks & Spencer, Mini, Great Ormond Street Hospital, and McDonalds. They are London-based, and have been operating for over a decade. One of their animators worked on a title sequence for Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel. Their portfolio is extensive, and they are looking to keep expanding.

Beautiful stories, brilliantly told.

I founded the precursor business to X Industries in 2008, but in 2011 we rebranded to our now well known and respected enterprise. What is it that we do? We specialise in short-form video media, be it live-shot or animated. We work with everyone, from start-ups to internationally recognised brands, and partner with a number of agencies to ensure that our clients needs are precisely met. Before I started X Industries I produced films for a number of major brands as well as advertising agencies. I took those years of practice and started my own business to continue to pursue my passion as well as taking on new talent to help them grow and pursue their passions too.

One of the things that makes X Industries stand out is our flexibility. We’re not afraid to work with agencies, as previously mentioned, in order to ensure that our clients get exactly what they need from us. We also invest a part of our funds into independent drama and documentaries, allowing us to contribute to film-making and the arts beyond our own direct involvement. X Industries is passionate about the arts, and holds itself to the highest standards when it comes to producing content for its clients. All of our staff are top-notch, hence the high-profile brands we’ve worked with.

X Industries is proud to have worked with international brands such as JBL, Red Bull, and GSK. We prioritise quality, and hold dear the principle of telling beautiful human stories. Connection is important to us, as is the human element, and that’s why we do what we do, and why we work with the businesses that we do. Do you have a story to tell? Maybe you’d like to work with us too.

Credit commentary:
The director Paul Thomas is providing a personal guarantee, which means should the business fail and have insufficient assets within the business to repay the loan, we can look to the guarantor(s) to repay any shortfall on repayment. There have been no CCJs for the business or director. Our risk assessment is based on the Equifax score and grade from the 2022 accounts. Looking at recent management accounts despite the low DSC of the company, we made an exception to our credit policy due to sufficient EBITDA and reasonable affordability shown in their bank statements. The company’s stability is underscored by a net gearing of 6%.

Inflation risk:
As the majority of lending to the business is at a fixed rate, they will not be immediately affected by interest rate increases. The directors do not expect to draw money from the business as the funds will be used to hire a new marketing manager
