Proteus VR labs introduces The Freefly, a headset that allows you to turn your phone into a virtual reality device. They are looking to become the world's leading “complete experience” virtual reality company by developing high-end hardware, bundling with the best VR applications and selecting the best third party VR peripherals. Combined, they give the end user the best VR complete experience.

Proteus VR Labs Ltd provides high quality highly accessible virtual reality productions and content powered by mobile

Freefly VR are hoping to become the number one choice for consumer AR (Augmented Reality) and VR (Virtual Reality) peripherals, thus becoming a global player in the mobile immersive entertainment and applications market.

They will do this by becoming available worldwide across trusted stores such as Bart Smit, HMV, John Lewis and Harrods. Furthermore, they will continue to innovate as well as supply third party products, marketing them through a growing database of customers and partner companies, such as leveraging their current partners and 1,700 developers. This will be reinforced by joining forces with other VR and AR companies to create a stronger entity.

Their ultimate goal is to make virtual reality mainstream by supplying cost effective, targeted consumer production, distribution and consumption solutions via ubiquitous mobile phone technology.

Their achievements so far include:
• Launch of Freefly - a wide field of view virtual reality headset compatible with most modern smartphones, which is developed in-house, with full IP and trademark protection
• 27K units sold worldwide
• Full, secure e-commerce website connected to worldwide distribution warehouses, visited by 133K people so far
• US bank account, merchant account, EIN approval, and legal CE and Bluetooth license
• Trade finance and factoring facilities
• Team of 11 people spread across UK and US time zones
• £354K year 1 turnover
• Seen by 800,000 YouTubers
• Access to 1,700 VR professionals for future recruitment

Currently, Proteus' primary revenue model involves selling directly through their website its Freefly and side products. This has the highest margin of around 45% and currently suits the existing market place. Their secondary revenue model involves selling directly to retailers or to retailers via distributors. This yields less margin but largely increases market share and brand awareness. Proteus' tertiary revenue model involves selling additional VR related hardware and content via their existing sales routes

Furthermore, Proteus sells to distributors at a competitive price to gain as much market share as possible in a quickly emerging market. They have seller agreements with all distributors to remain the exclusive seller on the major market place websites, i.e. Amazon, Rakuten, etc. In addition, Proteus keeps a focus on its own website for sales with margins at 50% plus.
