What is Property Fortress Education?

Property Fortress Education Ltd. will deliver online financial education for real estate investors. The content will focus on how to locate, purchase, improve, let and sell UK real estate.

Problem

We believe that today people are searching for how to invest successfully into UK residential property. They are confused by the various options on offer, they dislike the travel involved and they find the seminar pricing over the top. What they want is information at their fingertips as and when they need it.

Solution

Online training that follows a freemium model so people can get started without having to take out their credit card just to start. At each step of the way there will be guides so people know they are on the right path. Online quizzes are used to validate that the student is ready to progress to the next level and to highlight where there are presently gaps in their understanding.

Students can choose what they want to learn, when they want to learn, where they want to learn and who they want to learn from.

With the changing face of education and the emergence of Massively Open Online Courses (MOOC), people expect to learn as and when it suits them. We believe that content can be created once and then delivered many times thus creating sustainable value into the future. Property Fortress Education aims to make its mark by delivering real estate education in a format which gives students the best chances of success. To move from one lesson to another, students will need to pass a test so they can level up. We plan for digital medals and ribbons to mark progress and be a sign to the wider community who has mastered specific topics. We aim for the community to become a knowledge resource and a source of joint-venture deal partners.

We plan to introduce crowdfunding in order to enhance the community section of the platform. It is planned that students will be able to help fund their future educational needs and actually participate in the building of the course catalogue. Our vision is for future sales to be stimulated by having a crowd of financial backers who receive economic and educational benefits when they help spread the word.

We believe the Buy-To-Let sector has done rather well over the years and part of that is the steady demand for housing in a country that has been unable to construct enough homes. With the pension reforms that are coming in 2015 (1) , there could be increased demand for BTL investing. At the same time we think there are many gaps in the understanding people have as to how to start or what is best practice. Evening presentations and weekend seminars are not everyone's cup of tea. Providing an online alternative can be a way to fill the gap.
