Set up in 2013, Onside is a young and dynamic organisation steadily making an impact on the lives of people across the North West.

Dan Rigby, Onside CEO, aims to show as many people as possible that being a sports trainer is a great option to becoming a professional in sport. Dan played at youth level for Bolton Wanderers FC and, after not making it as a professional, went into education, learning the theoretical principles behind Sports Science and Coaching.  Since then, he has worked tirelessly with the developmental side, in a range of sporting specialties, to enhance physical, psychological, tactical and educational approaches for young athletes.

Dan's aim is to ensure as many boys, girls, men and women have the opportunity to realise their goals and ambitions by using sports as a career, alongside dedicated educational professionals, elite sportsmen and women and within national initiatives.

Onside offers Government, SFA and European Social Funded qualifications to everyone from school leavers to those looking to change careers into the fitness as sports industry.  Onside Sports Education specialise in providing short, bespoke and professional on-site and distance learning programmes designed to suit people who wish to gain accreditation as coaches, fitness instructors, personal trainers and exercise professionals. They also deliver longer-term provision in the form of Academy-style programmes for young men and women who participate in football and wish to follow this pathway in their future career
In addition, Onside Sports Education are proud to sponsor both aspiring and established athletes in their development by providing access, opportunity and support for them to progress through the sports education qualifications of their choice, thus giving an added professional dimension to their development. In turn, these athletes become ambassadors.
