Founded by Sam and Tabetha Levett, in Folkestone, Kent, UK. Gate Trading Ltd, trading as Pure Garden Building, is a UK based e-commerce retailer. They provide a wide range of garden buildings, cabins, hot tubs and pools; offering installation services in the UK. Funds raised will be used to develop the product range and will allow them some cash flow headroom as they move into the busier seasons.
Our goal is to help by offering expert advice on leading products from around the world, providing you with your garden building solutions.
Pure Garden Buildings offers a wide range of garden buildings and installation services. Advising and assisting our customers throughout the process, we supply a wide range of sheds, summerhouses, log cabins, garages, greenhouses, bike stores, pools, hot tubs and more. Some leading brands we carry include: Asgard, Biohort and Garden Leisure.
Building our company together as a couple has been exciting. We’ve helped over 200,000+ customers, from the general public, to businesses, schools and charities find what they need. Our products are sourced from leading international producers. We have a contract deal for supply and installation with US brand, LifeTime, sold on Wayfair and Robert Dyas. We are dedicated to providing a streamlined service for our customers; our online presence has grown to a 99.3% positive rating, with 145k items sold on ebay alone. We were lucky in that we saw an increase in business at the start of the pandemic, as customers were spending more time at home during lockdowns. Although we faced some challenges during the pandemic, we moved through these and are in a good place.
As a family owned business, and a trusted seller online, we are thrilled about the opportunity to expand. Given the growth in the e-commerce sector and our contracts with leading international brands, we see this as an excellent time for the business and its potential for growth. We’d like to use funds raised to help increase our product range and to assist with cash flow, especially as we come into our busier season.
Credit commentary:
The directors are providing a personal guarantee, this means that if the business fails the directors become personally liable for the loan. One director is a homeowner, however, this does not ensure there are sufficient assets should the loan need to be recovered. There have been no CCJs for the business or directors. The borrower stated that during the pandemic, Barclays closed their account and removed funds without explanation, which resulted in the company missing a few DDs. However, this was challenged, and the company won. The company has since moved to another bank where their bank statements demonstrate reasonable affordability, and the accounts remain well in credit.
COVID-resilience:
Gate Trading Ltd is an e-commerce business and has proved good resilience and strong retail growth during the pandemic. They are currently overcoming the challenges of the global shipping crisis which slowed sales.
