Over 33% of road traffic fatalities and 25% of injuries involve someone driving for work. This statistic needs to change, and Applied Driving is on course to do so. Dedicated to improving road safety and saving lives, we utilise the latest technological developments and expert knowledge to continually advance the driver safety solutions and products available to businesses. With your funding, we will accelerate our product development, driving meaningful change to employees and their loved ones.

Together, we can make the roads safer.

Applied Driving is an award-winning provider of driver safety and performance management solutions. We support businesses internationally to overcome some of the most challenging driver behaviour issues. Our dynamic approach analyses the risks your drivers face, and in turn, gives you information on how to mitigate these risks through best-practice solutions. We deliver measurable improvements to businesses by managing risk effectively, achieving legal compliance, and protecting corporate reputation.

We achieve all of these through a few key things. First up are our applications. Riskmapp is a management application available for web browsers that provides the tools you need to monitor vehicle condition, provide routine examinations for drivers to highlight problem areas, and check the validity of licences your drivers hold. This can be paired with the smartphone compatible Companion+, which allows businesses to track the behaviours of their drivers and identify high-risk behaviour. The very same app can also be used to send safety messages and targeted training, in order to mitigate said risky behaviour. We also work with a series of training partners, allowing thorough in-person courses to also be undertaken by business’ fleet staff.

Applied Driving is a British Business with a global reach. We support over 150,000 drivers across 47 countries, meaning our business extends to nearly a quarter of the globe! We’re lucky enough to work with businesses such as Silentnight and SSE, providing them with safety & compliance support that ensures they meet their legal obligations, improves their drivers’ safety, and saves lives.

Credit commentary
The directors Andrew Phillips , Ian Smith and James Golby are providing a personal guarantee, which means should the business fail and have insufficient assets within the business to repay the loan, we can look to the guarantor(s) to repay any shortfall on repayment. There have been no CCJs for the business or director. Our assessment of risk is There have been no CCJs for the business or director. The Equifax score and grade, which we use to assess risk, are based on the 2023 accounts. The company’s financial assessment presents a mixed picture. Despite a strong cash flow, there are concerns about the accuracy of the figures due to negative EBITDA and a modest turnover decrease. While the DSC ratio and net gearing are respectable, the decision to increase directors’ salaries and an outstanding Debenture from Ultimate Invoice Finance add complexity to the situation. The recent accounts indicate a pre-tax profit of £182,879, with net equity standing at £391,329. The bank statements show reasonable affordability, and the accounts are in good standing, with no negative balances.

Inflation Risk
As the majority of lending to the business is at a fixed rate, they will not be immediately affected by interest rate increases.
