Passionate children's hairstylist set to expand with a trademarked high chair | Tots Crops

Tots Crops offer a unique, child-centred, mobile hairstyling service in leading UK private day nurseries, making haircuts fun & hassle-free. With an expert team of stylists, an app and a long list of happy customers, their specialist styling service is steadily growing. With funds raised, Tots Crops plan to manufacture more of their trademarked and certified styling high chairs and launch into 20 new confirmed nursery locations.

We can put your child at ease and make having their hair cut really fun.

Tots Crops was founded after I noticed all my daughters’ nursery friends needed haircuts but their parents were struggling to find salons which weren’t intimidating or unsafe for children. As professional hairdressers, we developed a fun and comfortable system, where stylists came to the nurseries or homes of the kids, with colourful kits, our trademarked and certified safe highchairs and a playful, child-centred manner. The kids love it and the parents save the time and stress of a standard salon visit. We have since expanded our offering, with training courses and a membership programme for stylists, who can join our team as self-employed Tots Crops specialist stylists.

Our unique mobile service, with safe, comfortable high chairs, has received a great response from customers and nurseries because we take the tantrums and tears away from haircuts. As one parent said, their son now has his hair cut “cheerfully” and is “adamant that no one else can cut his hair, after the initial screams he did not want his hair cut.” Nurseries too are eager to host our services, as they are “a fantastic marketing and selling point to parents who have endured the trials of entering a noisy salon with a nervous under-five.” Our team is also active in the community. Each year we take on a challenge to raise money for charity such as recently cycling around Ibiza for the Great Ormond Street Hospital.

In 2014 we won The Times and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles Power In Partnerships competition and are now partnered with Simon Woodroffe OBE, the founder of Yo! Sushi. He is our business mentor, giving us expert guidance as we expand. Our stylist training and membership programme, along with the booking app makes our business model highly scalable and our brand is on course to grow exponentially. We have 20 new locations signed up on the system ready to start as soon as possible, and 20 more from a new collaboration with Bright Horizons Family Solutions, we just need to manufacture the chairs, which your investment will help fund.
