Our 2021 Sparkling Blush Wine was voted 'Best Wine in Wales' by Wine GB in their 2025 awards
Revenue is increasing year on year with a 20% increase since 2022.
We have been able to expand our product offering with new revenue streams proving popular. For example the number of weddings hosted doubled from 2024.
Our Story
Jabajak’s story began in 2004, when the restaurant & rooms business opened, followed in 2007 by the planting of the vineyard in in the rolling Carmarthenshire countryside. This laid the foundations for what would become one of West Wales’ most distinctive food and wine destinations.
In 2021, we acquired Jabajak, bringing renewed energy, investment and vision, while respecting the vineyard’s heritage and established reputation. We have continued to refine the guest experience, elevating standards of hospitality, food and design, and strengthening Jabajak’s position as a relaxed yet premium destination.
Today, Jabajak is entering its next chapter. Investment is being raised to sensitively modernise the property, including new windows and doors, alongside modernising the outdoor decking area and bar to enhance comfort, sustainability and the overall guest experience while preserving the essence that makes Jabajak unique.
Credit Commentary
Jabajek Vineyard, Restaurants and Rooms is a hospitality and vineyard business located in West Wales. The venue combines a vineyard producing Welsh wines, a restaurant, and onsite accommodation. The business has received positive reviews for their offerings on multiple review platforms. The company holds Equifax grade of C and has been in operation since 2021.
The company is jointly owned by Jacqueline Moody and Steven Moody. Both the shareholders have a good credit profile and are homeowners with unencumbered property. This enhances the strength of the Personal Guarantee provided to us, offering additional comfort regarding their financial standing and commitment.
The financials of the company depict a steady trajectory. Sales have remained stable over the past three years at circa £330k. Through effective cost management and the reduction strategy adopted for reducing high overheads, the company improved EBITDA from £39k (YE Sep 2024) to £104k (YE Sep 2025). In the latest year, investment/upgrade in fixed assets resulted in higher depreciation charges, which increased EBITDA. The Debt Service Coverage ratio is above 2x, indicating good coverage for loan repayments. The bank statements remain well in credit and we have utilized open banking which also indicates good affordability for the loan servicing. The company will utilize funds for general refurbishment plans.
Inflation Risk
The rising inflation has increased key operating costs across the business, including utilities, staffing, and supplies. To protect margins while maintaining quality, the company aims for a modest realignment of pricing across rooms, food, and beverages.
