Introducing Drinkintime Ltd, a seasoned alcohol wholesaler with a rich history spanning over two decades. Mark, the current Director, took over in the midst of COVID and has piloted the business to continued success since. The business has been enjoying a period of growth since Mark took over, which has been reflected up to and including the present. Serving a diverse clientele, Drinkintime Ltd works with local shops, hotels, and various businesses, establishing itself as a trusted partner in the industry.

To provide top-quality alcoholic beverages to retailers and establishments, fostering growth and success in their businesses.

I took over Drinkintime Ltd in the summer of 2020, which would have been a great time to have been wholesaling alcohol had it not been for the COVID-19 pandemic. Nonetheless, we managed to survive the gatherings bans and have made it all the way to 2024. Not only have we “made it” to 2024, but we’ve actively thrived. Our turnover has been increasing for the past few years, and the growth from 2023-4 can be seen below.

Drinkintime is a wholesaler of alcohol, and has been for over 20 years. Our primary clientele are a mixture of individual distributors such as local stores, and hospitality establishments such as hotels. Our USP is our approach to our clients. We firmly believe in the highest standard of client care, and feel there’s no business like repeat business. This goes doubly for wholesalers like us, whose businesses are often reliant on supply contracts with businesses. As a result we aim to deliver excellence in every interaction we have with our clients. Through integrity and our high standards of service, we have continued to pursue our goal of becoming the preferred supplier for our clients.

We started off as a small Birmingham-based alcohol wholesaler back in 2003, and over 21 years we’ve grown substantially. Now, still Birmingham-based, our profits and turnovers speak for themselves.

Credit Commentary:
The director Marc King is providing a personal guarantee, which means should the business fail and have insufficient assets within the business to repay the loan, we can look to the guarantor(s) to repay any shortfall on repayment. There have been no CCJs for the business or director. On analysis of the 2023 accounts, while the company did experience a decrease in their gross margin, they, however, experienced a substantial increase in turnover. The 2023 accounts also mark a significant increase in the company's retained earnings, highlighting its strong financial health. The management accounts show that operating profit was £ 602,957 and net equity was £971,169. The bank statements demonstrate reasonable affordability and the accounts remain well in credit.

Inflation Risk:
The business advised that although the market has increased prices due to the cost of raw materials, the business manages its supply on a set period based on agreed costs. As the majority of lending to the business is at a fixed rate, they will not be immediately affected by interest rate increases. The director does not expect to draw money from the business as all capital is vital for growth.
