ROBERT GODDARD LIMITED
Robert Goddard was founded by George Goddard (Robert’s Grandfather) in 1895. Since then, Robert Goddard has offered the same high standards of customer service which were insisted on by the founder over one hundred years ago. Looking to continue delivering distinctive clothing, they are looking for a loan for their 8th store.
Robert Goddard is an independent quality clothing business with branches in Wisbech and Spalding.
Our casual fashion ranges have grown with demand; we now offer some of the most sought after brands, including Gant, Ted Baker, Lacoste, UGG Australia, Henri Lloyd, Ralph Lauren and many more. Robert Goddard also offers a selection of formal wear and formal hire, alongside a range of accessories and shoes from well-known brands.
Our made to measure, hand tailored suits are increasingly popular, enabling you to enjoy a perfectly fitting, quality suit, designed to the clients' exact requirements.
Furthermore, all our stores are located in prime, high street positions, and are renowned for the service, selection and quality of the products we offer. As previously mentioned, this excellent customer service and ethos has been upheld by the loyal, experienced and committed staff, some of whom have been working for the business for over twenty years!
Over time, Robert Goddard has become a highly respected brand with an outstanding reputation stretching the entire country. This loan will allow us to continue offering our clients best in house service in our new store.
Where will the funds go?
A. Sorry David, this was misunderstood. The Directors only draw the minimum that they require. This has resulted in an average salary and dividend of approximately £38,000 per annum, and there are no plans to increase/reduce this. The majority of the profits are reinvested back into the business in order to fund growth.
A. Answered below.
A. Thank you for your question. There are no expenses/salaries/fees etc that will be paid to the Directors/shareholders.
A. Thank you for your question. No, the Director's have no interest whatsoever in the loans to be repaid.
A. Question answered above.
A. Thank you for your question. We acquired a business and opened Corby in 2015, hence the large turnover increase. We haven't opened any stores since.
A. Thanks for your question. We opened our Corby store 2 years ago and it is trading well. The new loan is for a new store in a new shopping park development called Rushden Lakes in Rushden (Northamptonshire). The store complements our existing portfolio well and will result in us being the only premium fashion independent retailed in the park. There are a collection of leading retailers opening at Rushden Lakes, and the site is anchored by House Of Fraser, Marks and Spencer and Next.
A. Thank you for your question. This is repaying a loan that it at a higher rate, thereby reducing our interest costs.
