We at Cardiff Marine Services, part of The Marine Group, are seeking a further £100,000 loan, following our previously successful £200k raise, to continue the growth of our marine business. We are based in Cardiff Marina and Aberystwith, Wales, where we hope to purchase a marina and acquire growth capital to expand our current offering.

Providing a first class, reliable service to our customers

We pride ourselves on making our customers™ boating experience as easy and enjoyable as possible. Our approach is to offer an integrated marine business service by providing a wide variety of complimentary services. Whether you are a competitive racer, motor cruiser, commercial boat owner or family sailor, we can help ensure you get the most out of your boat.

Our company headquarters are based in Cardiff, with additional facilities in Swansea and Aberystwyth. In addition, our team of marine engineers travel widely to repair and maintain boats across Wales, the south west of England and even further afield.

Furthermore, we are part of the Marine & Property Group Ltd (Company no. 05799333), which is privately owned and is our parent company and that of Aberystwyth Marina Ltd (Company no. 09426470). The Marine Group is dedicated to providing high standards of customer service for both our leisure and commercial customers.

As such, Marine Group boasts strong financial credentials, which allow it to invest substantially in new capital development programmes, as well as providing solid assurances to customers, suppliers and staff alike. The company currently employs 35 highly trained marine engineers, craftsmen and support staff.

The marina is owned by Cardiff Marine Services Ltd, so there are no further costs incurred as the property is ours and ready to be used by our clients and their vessels.

THE ENVIRONMENT
We are aware of our impact on the environment as we recognise that our business activities connect very closely with the marine environment. As a company, we are committed to environmental improvement and support The Green Blue initiative of the British Marine Federation and the Royal Yachting Association. We have installed solar panels at our head office at Cardiff Marine Village and have recycling bins available across all our sites. For more information on how to maintain, equip and operate your boat in an environmentally friendly manner, please visit www.thegreenblue.org.uk

We are also conscious of the wildlife with which we come into contact in the marine, so we make every effort to respect and avoid disturbing them. We ensure we ask our clients to reduce their speed and check their wash in sensitive areas. We also ask that they keep noise to a minimum to avoid disturbing fellow berth holders or scaring the wildlife. This includes not over-revving engines, playing music loudly and leaving halyards loose.

As always, we urge clients use the rubbish bins provided and not throw anything overboard or along the water™s edge. Recycling bins are also provided. We also highlight the need to separate hazardous waste items to avoid contaminating general waste. We ask clients ensure all sewage and bilge water is pumped out in the correct manner at authorised pump out facilities and ensure they take care to avoid spillage or drips of oil, fuel or chemicals into the water.

We also provide simple solution to stop the spread of aquatic invasive species by following three simple steps; check, clean and dry equipment when you leave the water.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
As a company, we take healthy and safety very seriously. That's why we employ an external agency to ensure we have up to date advice on the latest regulations and policies, in addition to supporting us by providing industry specific staff training. As a company, we are CHAS registered and regularly audit and update our health and safety policies.

We also ask all our berth holders to familiarise themselves with the layout of our marinas and the emergency points containing life rings, ropes, ladders and fire extinguishers situated throughout our sites. The safety of our staff and customers is a priority and we ask that both respect our policies and notices around our sites to ensure that accidents and injuries are prevented.
